Preparing children for school year 2014-2015 at this time may be viewed as premature by some. With merely more than a month left in summer vacation, I personally think though that now is a good time to start reminding them that school days are just around the corner without necessarily spoiling their remaining vacation days. This is the reason why I have been searching for a suitable online learning program that could hopefully serve as after-school study support once classes start.

The Need for Suitable After-School Study Program

It is no secret that children of today are faced with much more intense educational demands. It is likewise known that parents for their part are facing greater pressures to make sure that they are able to provide for their children’s education not only financially but also in other aspects of support. Most households are dealing with the realities of limited time and unlimited duties and obligations for each member of the family.

This situation calls for effective measures that will help parents train their children to take up responsibility for their own studies. Although parental guidance will always be necessary especially in education, the load becomes lighter for both parents and children when the latter is able to proceed independently in progression. It is highly critical that children learn to study on their own as they grow older since independent study is a more likely scenario in adulthood.

The K5 Option

I came across the K5 Learning option during one of my online searches which I do while resting from writing articles. It is an online after-school study program specifically for kids in Kindergarten to Grade 5. My youngest child will be in Grade 4 this coming school year so this sounds perfect for her. I am hoping to see something in the program that can help me guide my incoming Grade 8 son as well in his studies.

K5 Learning has an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5 students. I’ve been given a 6 week free trial to test and write a review of their program. If you are a blogger, you may want to check out their open invitation to write an online learning review of their program.

My Say

I really hope that this program can help my children. With the increasing cost of education, my husband and I have to work doubly hard to provide for their educational needs. It would be such a tremendous help if our children become capable of independent study. That doesn’t mean however that we will no longer teach them. It just means shared responsibilities among and between family to attain a common objective.
