Starting Early

My personal love for reading started very early. I read everything and anything I could get my hands on. It was one of the reasons why I became a loyal member of the Library Club in our school. I had the perfect reason to stay one hour longer in school looking through all the books in our library while getting to perform the most prestigious role of being the student librarian. It was quite a thrill to be stamping the return dates at the back of the book and having myself initial the library cards of my fellow students.

At home, I would be reading through a novel all through the night and would pretend to sleep when I sense my parents are about to check on me. Reading was not only fun since learning happened along the way. I knew more words than most of my classmates because I read and read and read. Just like the quote written above, these books live with me forever.

Showing the Way

My own children grew up seeing many books inside our home. There are all sorts, especially since I got married to someone who loves reading as well. My son started collecting his own through the Geronimo Stilton series while my daughter followed suit with the Thea Stilton series. They eagerly awaited school books fairs, visits to bookstores, and assigned schedules for borrowing books in the school library.

That is why this Scholastic book sale got us all excited. We will be scheduling our family’s visit to the warehouse this month. For those who may be interested to join the Scholastic Sizzling Summer Sale, here is  a map to the Scholastic Warehouse.

My Say

Reading a book has literally become a luxury for me at this time due to my current work load. Even the two days off a week from work is not enough to give me the opportunity to snuggle in with one good book because of the endless to-do list. We better decide quick on when to visit the Scholastic Warehouse so I can be back in the comforting world of books.
