At this point in time, the task to take care of the needs of Typhoon Yolanda survivors should be the first in the list. With so many things to be done, it is difficult for everybody to determine where to start in rebuilding the ravaged areas of Visayas. Since hygiene is a basic necessity for the  overall well-being of any person, whether in a disaster area or not, the Project Hygiene Kit initiated by the Davao Bloggers Society and Filipino Bloggers Forum addresses a seemingly simple yet very crucial need of the survivors.

The project aims to raise PHP 100,000 to finance and produce at least 1,000 hygiene packs. Each costs PHP 100 or $2.50 and will contain toiletries and other needed hygiene essentials. The choice for this specific project is based on the fact that it is often a neglected element of helping survivors because of the understandably higher priority occupied by food, medicine, and clothing.

My Say

Being human requires us to be responsive to the needs of others especially in these trying times. There is no big or small help, only help that is given wholeheartedly. Let us be part of the rebuilding process in any which way we can.
