Perla Redefines Clothing Care and Fashion

I have always been partial to white outfits. There is always that understated elegance in wearing the basics. It wasn’t a surprise therefore when I found out that all-white looks are now dominating runways and walkways from New York to Milan to Tokyo and Paris. Filipina fashionistas are not to be left behind of course with many of them rocking the look everywhere. And to help them take care of their basic whites, more and more Filipinas are turning to one trusted name–Perla.

My daughter and I are especially fond of wearing whites. Admittedly though, it can be a tricky thing to take care of white clothes. As I choose to hand-wash most of my family’s clothes, it is very important for me to use a laundry soap that will not irritate my hands to allow me to do my other duties.

Perla Laundry Soap

Perla laundry soap was introduced in the Philippines by Procter & Gamble Company in 1949. It was one of the several coconut based cleaning products launched by the company. The brand has maintained its place in the market mainly because of its natural ingredients that proved to be gentle and even beneficial to its users.

Each Perla bar is 50% pure coconut oil known for its strong antibacterial properties while remaining gentle on clothes. This makes it possible to effectively clean clothes as it softens and protects to make them last longer. The coconut oil works to strengthen the fibers of clothes thus reducing the risk of fiber breakage. Washing machine users actually grate the soap so that they can get the same advantage enjoyed by hand washers.

It is also hypoallergenic, making it safe to use on baby clothes. Mothers need not worry about allergies and itch that will definitely make the young ones cranky. It is also the perfect laundry soap to prevent the “kulob” smell during rainy days.

Basics Redefined: The Perla Fashion Show

The brand recently staged a fashion event celebrating the unique fashion sensibilities of Filipinas. Entitled Basics Redefined: The Perla Fashion Show, the event featured 30 real-life Perla users who slayed the all-white OOTD contest on Facebook and Instagram. Through runway ready all-white looks, these Filipinas proved that white outfits are neither bland nor boring, but instead empowering and timeless.

Perla brand specialist Quiel Estrella showed the audience of Basics Redefined: The Perla Fashion Show how Perla cares for delicate clothes with its hypoallergenic and all-natural formula. Aside from walking down the runway with fashionable looks last August 25 at The Block, SM North Edsa, the winners of the social media contest got to interact with the brand ambassador, TV host and notable actress, Toni Gonzaga. From the thirty ladies who joined the fashion show, three winners were named who subsequently took home special prizes from Perla! The audience did not miss out on the fun as well because they too, received gift packs just by participating on the activities and games on the venue.

My Say

Perla was a very popular brand during my growing up years. My older relatives then even swore to its capabilities in achieving smooth skin as a facial or bath soap. The fact that this brand is still around and being used by modern Filipinas to take care of their clothes just shows how effective it is as a laundry soap. Whiten and brighten your whites whether it is for your everyday or more formal looks with Perla laundry soap.
