LG ULTRA HDTV: Future-Proofing Smart TV
LG Electronics recently unveiled its 2014 LG Ultra HDTV line-up for the Philippine market. In its continuing efforts to push technological boundaries for the purpose of creating feature-rich devices in stylish designs, it promises to meet consumer needs not only now but in the years to come. This impressive product line-up seeks to future-proof smart TVs, making sure that these products will not suffer the fate of obsoleteness and continue to be of value for a longer period of time. Since the price of smart TVs can be considerable depending on the model, it is comforting to know that it can be expected to be of use up until the distant future.
The Event: LG ULTRA HDTV Roadshow Launch
In a roadshow event held yesterday at the Eastwood Mall, LG Electronics allowed hundreds of people to experience the much touted Real 4K quality of the LG Ultra HDTV through the ultra-clear TVs set up in the event venue. The audience which included media representatives and people in the mall during the event got to hear first-hand the good news about this new product line. LG Electronics promises the arrival of more exciting products for the second half of 2o14.
The LG UHD TV Ambassadors: Team Kramer
One of the more exciting portions of the event is the “Meet and Greet Team Kramer”. As most people know, Team Kramer refers to the family of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Doug Kramer and actress-host Cheska Kramer. This team will not be complete without their kids Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin Kramer.
LG Electronics couldn’t have chosen a better endorser than Team Kramer. Doug is obviously a techie person and knows what he is talking about when it comes to the features of the product, aside from being a serious movie buff. Cheska and their children share his interest in movies although she readily admits that they have different preferences as to the type of movies. Even then, there is no denying the fact that they do enjoy spending time together and watching movies and TV at home is something they regularly do.
The Product: LG ULTRA HDTV
Several models from the 2014 LG Ultra HDTV lineup are already available including the UB9800, UB9500, UB9300, and the UB8500. According to LG Philippines Vice President for Home Entertainment Division Hoony Bae, these products will fan the flames of the Ultra UD revolution even more, the spark of which started with the introduction of the 84-inch Ultra HD TV back in 2012. Some of the features which consumers can expect to see include:
1. Real 4K Resolution
2. IPS Technology
3. 4K with True 3D Experience
4. Smarter Viewing Web OS
5. Ultra Real Sound
My Say
Filipinos love watching movies and TV and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if these products get their attention. Since buying a smart TV can be considered a major purchase decision, most would like to be assured that the units they are buying now will not become obsolete by the introduction of the next model. And that is what we call smart buying.

Our tv is an LG too and we love it, and oh, Team Kramer, they’re so adorable!

Actually, ours is LG as well but not a smart one. We got it nearly a year ago and it’s doing good. My husband wants a wide screen so, with its screen of 50 inches, viewing is a lot more entertaining. This Ultra HDTV will be a dream for now.

Future-proofing smart TV’s should become the norm. Nowadays when everything becomes obsolete so quick, you haven’t even gotten acquainted well with your new electronics, a new feature is out again in the market.

That tv is HUGE! I have always wanted to have a large tv but my husband says we don’t need it. Maybe when I retire, I will get one for myself. For now, with all the school expenses, I can’t afford such things. For now, all I can do is admire LG’s technology and chalk it up to my list of “Things I will buy when I retire.”

Just the other day, hubby said he wanted an HDTV, similar to the one at Solaire, but I was quick to tell him that our TV is still in perfect condition. Lol!

I agree much with your concern. These products are that expensive so dapat masulit ang gagastusin mo. LG is a good brand when it comes to video stuff pero needs pa improvements ng audio product nila.
