A lot of people have experienced the pain of their specialization becoming obsolete. - Computing: With computers at the heart of all modern businesses, it’s easy to see why there’s a shortage of professionals in this field. Whether you’d like to get into networking or IT support, there are loads of different jobs in this area. In some cases, you don’t even need a background in the field to get a job in it.
- Teaching: Even if economies collapse and most of the world’s jobs disappear, there will always be a need to keep people educated. Being a teacher enables you to pursue a field you enjoy while also ensuring you always have security in your work. Of course, though, it will take a long time get into this position, you have to make sure you’ll enjoy it before you begin.
Finding a skill which isn’t going to disappear may seem like a very dramatic move. Of course, though, the world of today isn’t the same as the one just a few years ago. Companies come and go everyday, and a lot of them seem to be successful before their fall. In these cases, you will often find loads of professionals out of work, and nowhere to find a new job. It doesn’t have to be this way, though, if you choose an option which will last forever.
