A Gift of Love Through a Baby Box

More and more people are choosing to give than to receive on their birthdays. This is the very essence of A Gift of Love: Baby Box Project. This very special project which is expected to benefit 100 babies marks the 4th birthday of a young boy named Danton. His mother chose to do this outreach program as a way of giving to the newborn angels at Philippine General Hospital (PGH). The idea is to be able to give to babies born on the same date as Danton.

The Baby Box

Each baby box contains at least PHP 2,000 worth of assorted things usually needed by newborn babies. These include baby clothes, accessories, grooming and health supplies, toys, and diapers, among others. The boxes are similar to the baby boxes given away by the government of Finland to newborn babies. Donations are still very much welcome in the hope that more babies can benefit from this commendable project. Donors of items worth at least PHP 1,000 were given a cute piggy bank with wings each.

Distribution Day

The target day for distribution of these boxes is on August 23, 2016. Scheduled time provided are: 8-9 am, 1-2 pm , and 5-6 pm. Designated distribution areas are the Pedia Ward and Neonatal ICU at PGH.

We need more of these activities that extend help to the needy. There are so many people who have the capacity to help those who have less in material things. I’m sure this is something that the birthday celebrant can look back to with pride and love many years from now when he is of age, understanding by then the real importance of giving without asking for anything in return.
