Music Festivals as the name connote are festivals geared towards music usually with a specific theme or genre. The lined-up acts though can be as varied as the organizers want them to be. Because of the expected crowd to be drawn, they are typically held outdoors where more people can be accommodated. Music festivals have been known to introduce new and budding artists while offering a lot of other activities for attendees.

Music Festivals at the Local Scene

Music festivals are not really new in the Philippine scene. In fact, given the Filipinos’natural inclination towards music and having fun, it can be said that the people are very comfortable attending one. This year promises to be a very interesting one for music festivals at the local scene especially with one specific event that is set to happen this month.

The First Ever Exodus Music Festival

On March 21, 2015 at the Island Cove Resort and Leisure Park at Kawit, Cavite, the first ever Exodus Music Festival will welcome music and fun enthusiasts alike. Cultural presentations will start as early as 8:00 AM. It will be a 24-hour non-stop music and art event extending till the wee hours of Sunday. The concert proper will start at noon until midnight. Afterwhich, DJs will take over for the electronic dance music party until about 6 AM.

One of the highlights of the show is the performance of American reggae-pop band Big Mountain who became popular for its cover version of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way”. Of course, local performers will not be far behind as the likes of Joey “Pepe” Smith, Maria Cafra, The Wuds, The Dawn, Razorback, Wolfgang, Franco, Urban Dub, Tropical Depression, and more take center stage as well. The Exodus Music and Arts Festival is not all about music as it also features a car show, a tattoo competition, a dreadlocks competition, and various merchandise stalls selling different products and food.  All stalls will be up until the following morning of March 22.

Free shuttle service will be made available to all ticket holders. Pick-up and drop off points will be at SM Mall of Asia. See the Exodus Facebook Page for details.
