The Insurance Commission has finally released an update with regards to the Danvil Claims Batch 2. This decision is contained in a Directive dated February 24, 2016. In a notice published at Philippine Star at the Classifinder Section dated April 28, 2016, it was announced that checks for claims of the second batch will be released starting May 2, 2016 from 8 am to 5 pm at the Danvil Plans office located at the 2nd floor PPSTA Bldg. Quezon Avenue cor Banawe Street, Quezon City. The list of Batch 2 claimants is expected to be published any time today at the Insurance Commission website.*

danvil batch 2

I personally went to the Danvil office last Wednesday, April 27 to make a follow up but I was informed that they have not yet received the official notification from the liquidator Atty. Rony Togonon. They assured me however that they are expecting to get one any time soon. It is quite a relief to finally see the published notice yesterday, signaling what I hope, is the end of a long and anxiety-filled wait.

Who Are Included in Danvil Claims Batch 2?

As noted in my previous posts related to this topic, Batch 1 claimants included planholders whose plans matured on or before October 10, 2013. Their checks were released starting January 26, 2016. Batch 2 claimants include the following:

  1. For planholders with fully paid (but not yet matured) plans, the premiums they paid will be returned in full
  2. For planholders actively paying their plans, the premiums they paid will likewise be returned to them in full
  3. For planholders whose plans were pre-terminated prior to December 31, 2013 and whose pre-termination value has been held by the IC due to suspension of payment of all benefits, they shall be paid 50% of the premiums paid since they exercised their option to pre-teminate

Check Release Procedure

Due to the considerable number of Danvil Claims Batch 2 claimants, a designated number of claimants will be accommodated per day. The list of claimants together with their designated claim dates will be published at the IC website. Release dates will depend on the date the claim was filed. Claimants must bring with them the following:

  1. Original Copy of Policy Face Page
  2. Original Copy of Contract Provision
  3. Original Copy of Certificate of Full Payment
  4. Two government-issued IDs with picture and signature

Planholders Who Have Not Yet Filed Claims

Planholders who are included in the master list but have not yet filed their claims can still do so. Photocopies of documents mentioned above have to be submitted to the Danvil office. There is a need to bring the original copies for verification. The schedule of check release will follow.

For other inquiries, planholders are advised to contact the Liquidator or his assistants ( Ms. Jingky Chavez, Ms. Rachelle Cadayona, Mr. Toti Baluyot, Ms. Grace Calindatas, Ms. Kathleen Talens, Mr. Nigel Albao, and Ms. Cherry Dannemiller) at the following numbers: , 2320671-72, 09951284045, 09186689058 or through email: danvilph@yahoo.com

My Say

Although the disappointment is still there in not getting the promised return of my investment, I am thankful that I am going to get what I actually paid. It is a much-needed fund during this time of the year for my children’s school enrollment. I am still holding my breath until I get my hands on that check.

Still, I hope there is way to prevent this from happening again. These people including myself did not enter into any get-rich-quick scheme. We were prepared to wait for the expected benefits to be given to our beneficiaries as promised and not to be subjected to many sleepless nights in the failure of a provider to sustain itself.

This should never, ever be allowed to happen again. At the rate things are going right now, many are yet to follow.
