About Color My Hair

It has been more than ten years since Color My Hair Technical Salon first opened its doors to the public. The main goal was to “make it” in the colouring industry. If assessment of achieving this goal is to be made based on its current number of devoted clients based here and abroad, then it can be said that Color My Hair has indeed made it after more than a decade of providing professional and expert service. Such kind of service is by no means an accident. It is the product of investing in professional education and continuous professional training.

Education – at the Heart of a Distinct Service

Most hairdressing professionals graduate from a beauty academy and never look back for further education. Many will argue that experience is the best teacher. Granted that is true, it would still take continuous stylist training and re-training to be current on cutting and colouring techniques. The more updated a hair stylist is, the better it is for clients who are always on the look-out for up-to-the-minute styles.

Hair trends continue to change and this fact is not ignored by the management of Color My Hair. An in-house education program called “Color My Hair Technical Salon Colour Pro” and weekly workshops are provided to all salon team members to ensure that they get the benefit of world-class training that will keep their skills razor sharp. Every year, stylists complete highly regarded advanced courses at the L’Oreal Professionel Academie. Aside from L’Oreal, Color My Hair has also partnered with top hair stylists in Asia for continuous training.

My Personal Experience with Color My Hair

I have long considered having my hair colored but never really got around to doing it. I had many reservations about it. I was afraid that the chemicals would sting my scalp, that my hair will become very dry, or simply because I was apprehensive that the color change will not fit me. Even when I was prone to having white hair from a very early age due to genetics that became more obvious in time, I still wasn’t convinced enough to make the change. I was pretty adventurous with my clothes during my younger days, but I cannot say the same with my hair. After all, hair color cannot be changed as easily as clothes.

I was pleasantly surprised that the hair stylist took the time to inspect my hair for the purpose of determining whether it is fit for coloring. Now that’s a first for me. I am quite used to being “sold” all kinds of hair services in one seating that it felt good that he took the time to know my hair history. Another customer had to wait for a while to have her hair tested since the hair stylist thinks that it has been previously treated while the customer swears to the contrary. It turned out that her hair was indeed previously treated thus the hair treatment was adjusted accordingly. I was thinking to myself that such a simple step showed genuine care for customers and so I knew I was in good hands.

And so the hair stylist recommended the brown color for my hair which I agreed to. I only requested for one thing and that is to have that hair color which will fit the image I present in my blogs which is my true persona any way. In answer to all my mentioned fears: No, the chemicals didn’t sting a bit nor did it smell offensive. No, my hair didn’t dry up and actually looked softer than the original condition of my hair when I came in the salon (thanks to the hair treatment that came after the coloring). Most importantly, I actually think that Yes, the new hair color fits me and I’m saying that with both my feet standing on reality.

My Say

When it comes to efforts in trying to look good, I have always been an ardent fan of subtlety. It is about making changes that may not be very obvious but provide an effective impact just the same. This is the very first time I had my hair colored and having it done by Color My Hair is probably one of the best decisions I made in my life towards gaining more confidence. While I’ve always found it easier to keep my hair in pony tail, my new hair color gave me just the right push to have it down or up, loose or tied, depending on my mood. For me, the essence of having my hair done right lies in the comfort and confidence I feel after. That I got from my visit to Color My Hair – the salon that makes sure you get your hair colored right.

It was so much fun to change from black to brown hair color. Who knows, I might me more daring the next time around.
