Every once in a while, we get to have the opportunity to look back at the things that used to give us so much joy and peaceful moments. This was what instantly came into my mind when I saw this invitation to join a Reading Revolution to revisit the value of books and reignite the love for reading. Memories of my much younger self, reading from one book to the next with no interruption but the call from my mother to eat, affirmed just how much I loved the feel of book paper in my hand and its scent sinking into my senses. Much as I love reading, I don’t find it easy to pass on such interest to my own children. They are restless readers alright, easily distracted and convinced to shift activities at a moment’s notice.

And now this! I may just get to discover a gem or two about encouraging my children to read more.

My Say

I am really very glad that a seminar/workshop of this nature is being offered at this time. I believe this is something that can help parents and teachers guide children to better appreciate the benefits of reading books. I will be sharing my personal experience of this event in my parenting blog : Just-Passing-Thru. Watch out for it.
